Justice for the Palestinians in Gaza who are brutally being killed
The Issue
On Monday 14th May, 58 Palestinians were killed at the border of the Gaza strip into Israel, including many teenagers and a baby.
Over 2,700 Palestinian demonstrators were injured along the border fence with Gaza. The most recent protests took place as the United States Embassy was moved to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, on the 70th anniversary of the formation of Israel. Thousands of Palestinians tried to cross the border fence from Gaza into Israel, but thousands were brutally fired on by Israeli troops. This horrific bloodshed was shockingly only 40 miles away from the joyful opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, and US President Donald Trump described the day as 'a big day for Israel.'
Israeli troops justified the act by stating that they were merely acting in self defence due to their suspicions of terrorist group Hamas apparently using protesters as a screen to hide behind, and that Hamas had had plans to attack Israel and so by opening fire on civilians they claimed that they were protecting themselves.
This barbarity must be ended - Palestinian citizens have had to suffer countless times, particularly during the Gaza conflict of 2006 and during 2014. Britain is a strong, wealthy, powerful nation, and we have a duty to provide aid and support to the Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, who desperately need help.
