I witnessed Domestic Abuse as a child and entered an abusive relationship with someone that I thought loved me because this was normal in my life. 

I settled down with this man and on 02/06/2016 I found out that i was 8 weeks pregnant with his baby. He had already managed to isolate me from my friends and family by making me believe that they were no good for me and that I didnt need them. I fell out with everyone and became trapped. As time went on, the abuse continued, he controlled me emotionally, financially, sexually and harmed me physically suring my pregnancy. Being pregnant made it a whole lot worse than what it was previously. 

I suffered a lot of trauma and once I was able to plan my escape with professionals, I finally got away. 

Escaping made me homeless. I had nowhere to go and wasn’t a priority because I had lost my child due to injuries that were caused to him by his father. I ended up going back to the council and refusing to leave which resulted in the police coming and putting me in a refuge. 

I had to move away from everyone and everything that i knew to keep myself safe. Once again, I was alone. Fleeing. All because I was classed as ‘high risk’

In April this year I got my baby boy back. We have now got our own little home and are trying to repair the bond that was disrupted. I am trying to rebuild our lives and do what i can to make sure he is happy and healthy. 

However, it has come to my attention that his father has a legal right to know his sons whereabouts. He is now asking for the details of our doctors surgery and the name of the nursery our child is supposed to attend. 

It has been pointed out to me by my solicitors that there is no such order that will protect us from this information being shared! 

People in my position as well as myself need to be protected from perpetrators. Have we not suffered enough?

We dont want to be looking over our shoulders any more than we already do because our childrens fathers have parental rights which includes knowing their childs location. 

If the government, agencies, charities, police and others are able to get us into a stable position, why are they not able to keep us safe from then onwards?

Refuge is NOT a long term solution. 

We need to be able to protect our own people, the victims, the children who are also victims. 

Please help to keep people like my child and I safe by signing this petition and making it clear to the government and CPS that we need this to be able to settle down in safety and no longer be afraid.

The statistics of victims and children being murdered as a result of domestic abuse are forever increasing and we don’t want to be a statistic. We want to be helped. We NEED the governments help to save lives.
