Today, we delivered the Final Say petition to the prime minister at No 10. Since we launched it at the end of July, an astonishing 1,075,031 (and counting) of you have signed it. It has also gathered increasing support within Westminster – Chuka Umunna, Justine Greening, Vince Cable and Caroline Lucas were there with us this afternoon, but many more have backed us along the way.

This scale of this petition cannot be ignored. Our friends at the People’s Vote delivered their own petition, of 337,000 signatures, at the same time. Our voices are being heard, the strength of public feeling is coming behind our combined call for a referendum, and the political power base is growing.

We are enormously grateful for your support. Please carry on sharing the petition with your friends and family.

Our reasons for driving this campaign remain unchanged since day one. No one expected the process of Brexit to be quite such a mess. Now we can add that the deal on the table – as predicted – bears very little resemblance to anything that was outlined at the time of the first referendum, and the clarity of the likely negative consequences has replaced the hype and spin of so-called Brexit dividends.

Democracy didn’t stop two years ago. If the people are changing their minds, we should let them do that officially. And if they really want any of the Brexit options available, we should let them put the stamp of approval on the final terms too.

We cannot ease up now. Only by offering the public a chance to say where it stands on Brexit now can the government be sure that they are fulfilling the will of the people.

We will continue to campaign for a Final Say. Will you?
