WE DID IT!!!
We are SO excited to share the incredible news that, from this week, every state-maintained school and college in England will be able to order free period products for their students!!
The new Government-funded scheme went live on Monday morning, and schools will be able to opt-in and place orders for a range of period products via an online portal.
We fought determinedly for this change in Government policy - starting with the petition that all 277,206 of you signed! THANK YOU.
We're thrilled to have played our part in securing funding for young people across England - mirroring commitments already made in Scotland and Wales - and are now urging all schools and colleges to sign-up for the new scheme as soon as possible.
Guidance on the scheme and how to place orders is available from the Department for Education HERE.
This includes information to assist schools and colleges in:
• choosing and ordering period products
• distributing products within institutions
• tackling stigma.
We have a chance to take a huge step towards greater equality in our education system, but we need EVERY eligible institution to use its allocated funding and make period products freely available to their students as soon as possible.
