Hello all 274,039 of you!!!

Free Periods was launched exactly two years ago today!

Thanks to all of your relentless campaigning, determination and support, we are on the cusp of eradicating period poverty for ALL children in England. This week, we will meet the Government team heading up the period poverty task force, to talk about their Spring Statement pledge to end period poverty in secondary schools and colleges in England. BUT, we need a push to persuade Philip Hammond to extend the pledge to cover primary schools, too.

Girls are starting their period at an increasingly younger age, and we know that period poverty affects all children, regardless of age.

We need to make sure this commitment is extended to provide free menstrual products in ALL schools, so that we can eradicate period poverty for ALL children in full-time compulsory education. No child should be held back from achieving their ambitions and realising their potential because of their period.

The Education Minister stated last week that the Government is ‘considering options for supporting primary school children’, so let’s remind them why it’s so important. Please write to your MP. It’s really easy to do this here.

Thank you!
