Welcome to the 2nd day of the New 12 Month Cycle. WOW! It's a lovely day out! This morning I was frozen out of bed and had to turn the heating on! Gosh! But looking out my window it does not look like winter at all! I feel that I have to tell you of my recent experience on Facebook regarding my petition...
SPEAK YOUR MIND & USE YOUR VOICE
I posted a link to my petition in a Facebook group, I asked that people would take the time to read my updates, sign, and share. The next thing I know someone posted a massive tirade against my style of update i.e. I turned the updates into a blog of sorts, that they (the updates) are too long and I am being childish because I use the term "Tricky Vicky" to describe evil female JCP work coaches and "Dim Tim" for evil male work coaches. This person went on to state that he will not sign and share because of the way I have gone about my petition. Well, I told the guy where to get off! This is my petition and this is how I am going to present it.
What I hated about this guy's input are the following:
01. I never asked for a critique. It would have been polite to ask if I wanted to know what this one person thought of the way I have presented my petition. Oh no! This guy felt that I needed to read a massive tirade.
02. This guy felt that I shouldn't be adding personal blogs with my petition and that they should be linked elsewhere or something like that. Well, I think that this is stupid! Why? Okay, I will tell you...
When we are protesting we use the voice that we have. We use our voices to speak our minds. How else are others going to understand our anger, frustration, and outrage, huh? Why is it that when we have the opportunity to express our thoughts and feelings on an oppressive system that some of us have the idea that we have to present them in a "professional" manner in order to garner validity and therefore a mass response? It defeats the purpose! I believe in telling it as it is and if people don't like it, TOUGH!
However, I am very thankful for the comments and signatures thus far. Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to read, sign, and share! And your comments are very much appreciated! It tells of our experiences and what we are thinking. Considering I started this petition at Xmas, I am quite proud that I have got this far on my own! I am very grateful for the support that I have received so far. It is early days and I will keep working on publicizing my petition!
03. Disingenuous. This detractor claims he that he was trying to help me get more signatures but he, himself, refused to sign and share based on the fact that he did not read the updates thoroughly. He just saw the terms "Tricky Vicky" and "Dim Tim" and had a meltdown. Boo hoo bloody hoo! That is so disingenuine because he knows how these idiotic nonsensical sanctions have hurt people and continue to mess people up. So, for him to not sign and share is petty and childish. Perhaps he's not suffering enough from the theft of his welfare... It just goes to show that there are people who are supposed to be fighting the corrupt system who'd rather fight an individual who is making a clear stand against the corrupt system.
UPLIFTING
Thankfully, this is just one isolated incidence of negativity; I was pretty annoyed, as you can imagine, based on the reasons above. I think our minds and voices are the most powerful resources we have to make a stand against systems that demonize the everyday man, woman, and child trying to keep their heads above water like I am! Right now, I am afraid to look at the state of my bank account. Again, there's a £400-odd hole in it and I have got to figure a way to pay the bills! My broadband could get cut off in the process! I have a possible job interview and I don't see how I can get there without money. This interview requires that I use the train and train fares are ridiculous. I don't want to hire the train for the day; I just need to get to a particular destination and back! I don't think that I can do it. I have exhausted family and friends for some financial support; it looks like it will take a while until I am able to claim the (stolen) money back through a tribunal. I am just waiting for a response to my Mandatory Reconsideration Notice. How long as it been? You don't want to know or you have had a similar experience...
Gosh, I can waffle sometimes... Well, I think it is all relevant. Of course, if this is too much for you, you don't like my writing style, etc then I am sure that you are not reading this at all.
The uplifting thing is that I can see people on Facebook sharing my petition links! I can see the number of signatures growing each day! Oh, someone made a comment to one of my updates the other day! Even if one person reads an update I think it is a good thing!
Again, I do not want to compromise in my delivery. This is my voice, these are my thoughts. Take or leave them.
Respectfully, I do not need your advice or your validation. I have a mind of my own and this is how I am using it!
Thank you!
