In a few days, I will be retrying for the "Hardship Fund". I think the reason why I was denied it the first time I applied for it is because the person misread "hardship" for "hard s***"! Seriously, even though I had applied to over 15 jobs, the line manager at JCP Enfield sent me an email to let me know that because I didn't create a LinkedIn account and create a CV for the purpose of getting employed as a Vegan Chef I was denied. Crazy, right? The reason why I didn't do these two tasks was down to me trying to have this 28-day sanction overturned because my so-called "work-coach" stitched me up. She's a nasty job's worth! Fortunately, the woman is unintelligent which should make it easier for me to win a tribunal - should it come to that.
Tapping into the Hardship Fund would have meant being able to pay the bills that allow me to look for work online. Oh, and to provide nutrition in the form of food. These people are insane!
This isn't my fight alone! This is your fight too! Even if you are working, it is not right for vulnerable people in our community to be systematically targeted with nonsensical sanctions. It's despicable!
