The Issue

Progress was made on 4/16/2025 as the US ordered a halt to all existing offshore wind projects.
Now is the time to navigate the uncertainty of what’s to come.
With the corporate machines at pause, this is our moment to take over the narrative.

This isn’t about politics. This is about survival. Offshore wind is destroying our coastlines, threatening our fisheries, and wiping out generations of hardworking fishing families. I know — because I’m a fisherman’s daughter. I’ve watched my father’s health, his livelihood, and his pride spiral for decades — not because of the ocean, but because of what’s being done to it. This doesn't make me biased. This makes me knowledgeable in the topic at hand. Fishermen have always been the stewards of these waters — long before corporations showed up with their turbines and empty promises. Offshore wind isn’t clean energy when it comes at the cost of coastal communities. It’s industrial takeover.

Their knowledge isn’t a footnote — it’s foundational. Their voices aren’t optional — they’re essential. If decisions are being made about the sea, the people who live by it, work on it, and protect it should be at the table — not locked out while developers draw profit maps behind closed doors.

If we stay silent, there will be no more sea. And when the sea goes quiet... so do we.

  • The answer to fossil fuels isn’t building more energy empires. It’s using less.
  • You don’t save the planet by letting new corporations destroy what old ones missed.
  • You don’t fix fossil fuels by building more machines. You fix it by using less.
  • Replacing one profit engine with another isn’t a solution. It’s a rebrand.

Offshore wind isn’t clean energy — it’s corporate takeover dressed in green. Built on the backs of fishermen they never bothered to include. These projects aren’t just destroying habitat — they’re making it dangerous for the very people who still work these waters.
Massive exclusion zones. Navigational hazards. Displaced fish stocks. Risking the lives and livelihoods of fishermen who’ve worked these grounds for generations — all so energy developers can cash in.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t sustainability. It’s sacrifice. And it’s the fishermen they’re willing to sacrifice first.

Let this be heard loud and clear — across party lines, across coastlines, across every dock and deck from here on out: Fishermen will not be drowned out by corporate greed.

Stand with us. Sign the petition. Be loud. Be relentless. Be impossible to ignore.
