When June Foray passed away this year, she left behind a remarkable legacy of voice overs, awards and influence in the animation industry. A remarkable woman, she worked hard, pouring her heart and soul into everything she did to leave a strong impact on the field of animation.

We have the Annie Awards, we have the Animated Film Category at the Academy Awards, we have Association Internationale du Film d'Animation or International Animated Films Society, we have animation recognized and archived for its achievements. All of these events have been influenced tremendously by this woman’s work.

For so many of us, June Foray’s voice is forever associated with childhood and with Disney as she brought so many of our favorite characters to life and continued to do so up until her death. Just some of her voices are Ma Beagle, Magica DeSpell, Grammi Gummi, Lucifer the Cat, Grandmother Fa, various other 'grandmotherly' voices and outside of Disney, she has done Natasha, Rocky, Granny, Witch Hazel, and too many others to list. A great many of her voices remain uncredited.

She has truly earned the title "Queen of Animation" and as the infamous Chuck Jones stated so eloquently: "June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc was the male June Foray."

 She has hardly received the recognition for her numerous contributions to Disney’s legacy that she rightfully deserves and so we are imploring the Walt Disney Company to correct this oversight and make June Foray a Disney Legend.
