Petition updateSTOP Disney - Last Chance for Lighthouse PointGoal Reached - 250,000+ Supporters. Now Help Us Reach Disney’s Chair Bob Iger

Since our last update in mid-December, the Last Chance petition to the Walt Disney Company has soared. Since the start of the year alone, we have added more than 100,000 supporters to our call for the company to change course at Lighthouse Point. Thank you!

Media interest is also growing. In early January, French national television news aired a 4-minute documentary on the controversy over Disney’s plans to build a massive cruise ship port that would degrade this special natural place and proposed Marine Protected Area.

NOW we need your help to bring our message to Disney at the highest level. Please sign our new petition to Bob Iger, Disney Chair.  Mr. Iger needs to hear directly that saving Lighthouse Point is even more urgent after the devastation to northern Bahamas islands wrought by a climate-charged hurricane Dorian last September.  On the new petition, you can share your email with us so we can keep you updated more frequently with opportunities to do more.

Mr. Iger needs to know that the world is watching as his cruise line and its contractors are rushing ahead to start work on the site without the completion of an Environmental Impact Assessment or, to our knowledge, the required permits.

It is not too late for Iger to decide that Disney will instead demonstrate real environmental leadership - find a more suitable site for its cruise ships and to be a partner in a sustainable alternative for Lighthouse Point - that would be a beacon of hope for The Bahamas, the oceans, and the world.
