Over the weekend, the Stop Disney - Last Chance for Lighthouse Point campaign brought a mobile billboard to the Convention Center in Anaheim, California where Disney fans from all over the country gathered for the D23 event. We wanted to call attention to the now over 75,000 people who have become supporters of our campaign to persuade Disney to save Lighthouse Point and to choose another more suitable site for its cruise port. Our volunteers handed out hundreds of postcards with our campaign’s message. See the attached video!
Reaching 75,000 signatures is a major milestone and we could not have done it without your support!
Disney has stated their commitment to “ensuring a world where wildlife thrives and nature is treasured and protected”. This directly contradicts Disney’s current plans for Lighthouse Point to develop a cruise ship port in a proposed Marine Protected Area.
The rapid growth of support for our campaign - 25,000 new signatories in just the last week - has caught the attention of the media in The Bahamas. But, we still need to up the pressure on Disney.
