I get it. We grew up with white skin red hair blue eyed ariel. But lets be real, she's a mermaid, she could be blue or purple or pink. Noone said anything when white actresses portrayed black women in movies. Noone said anything when iconic black roles were given to white people. So why the uproar over a cartoon character being portrayed by a black woman in the live action? Racism. Pure and simple. I've seen posts saying we deserve a white Ariel. I've seen posts showing pale Latinas as options. Listen? If you say Ariel should be white and then list of Latinas who are pale as options, then you're admitting you're only problem is that shes black. Halle Bailey deserves this role. Keep her there.
