I am proud to announce that with your help, Herbie has been saved! Today, Disney has announced their new series, Fast Layne, which was originally described as a Knight Rider-style Herbie the Love Bug reboot featuring a "Talking Herbie", but the good news is it's been changed to an entirely different project that is not associated with Herbie in any way. What does this mean? It means Herbie will not be talking because this new series will not feature Herbie at all, but rather another vehicle named "V.I.N", according to Deadline's article. We don't know for sure if our petition had anything to do with this, but It's no mystery that Disney is aware of all you loyal Herbie fans, so I think we might have influenced their desicion in one way or another. So thank you all so much for supporting and signing this petition. Let's hope this opens a door for the possibility of another Herbie reboot that stays true to the original. In the meantime, we can now stop worrying about our favorite little VW beetle. Thank You all :) Herbie would be proud!
