Attn: James J. Berger, MS, MT (ASCP), SBB, Designated Federal Officer

Dear Mr. Berger,

In light of the recent NY Times article it has become crystal clear that Eugene Shapiro offers no benefit to the Tick-Borne Disease Working Group.

Exploiting a case that fits Shapiro’s clueless notion of Lyme disease is the equivalent of claiming that strep throat is easily cured while ignoring the fact that untreated strep progresses to Rheumatic fever causing irreversible heart damage. What happens to the Lyme patient who goes months, years or decades before diagnosis due to a false negative antibody test, missing bulls-eye rash misdiagnosis etc.?

The collusion to hide the horribly disabled is BLATENTLY obvious.

Patient testimony all across America is describing a disease that is destroying lives, ending careers while leaving its victim in financial ruin as represented in the documentary “Under our Skin” and in the 1000 page comment file I emailed to Kristen Honey, member of last year’s TBDWG.

PLEASE REMOVE SHAPIRO FROM THE TICK-BORNE DISEASE WORKING GROUP!

Carl Tuttle
