End of Fall 2020 Semester Update

This semester has proven that many students have struggled with the online environment of classes. The University has worked to provide service to students, but it is simply not at the same level as in-person education. To offset the mental, physical, and emotional pressures of the present online learning environment, and following the news that 75% of Spring semester courses will also be taught online, UMD should further lower tuition and fee costs for the remainder of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We urge students and parents to continue outreach to UMD leadership to address this issue. As cases rise and the pandemic looms, the University needs to adjust the costs students are asked to bear during these exhausting times accordingly.
We encourage students with the highest need to apply for limited UMD Student Crisis Funds as we continue to advocate for adequate cost adjustments.
