On March 30th, the RSPCA, the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation and The Humane League UK hosted a parliamentary reception in Westminster to support Beatrice’s campaign to ban cages for hens!

Henry Smith MP, who brought Beatrice’s Bill to Parliament in September 2021, chaired the reception. It was a huge success - bringing together dozens of MPs, representatives from major companies Waitrose and Greggs, animal protection organisations, and celebrities including Peter Egan, Kirsty Gallacher, Marc Abraham, Lucy Watson and James Dunmore.

The Government Minister with ultimate responsibility for animal welfare spoke at the event and committed to the next step on the journey towards banning cages for hens - launching a consultation this year to review the impact of a ban.

This is a crucial next step and we need to make sure that the Government takes it! Parliament is on its Easter break but we want to show our politicians that hens in cages don’t get to relax. Can you please share this petition with 5 family or friends who might add their names? That way, you can help us reach 100,000 signatures and make sure that the Government does not forget about its commitment.

Thank you to everyone who has signed this petition and helped give hens like Beatrice a chance to be free from the suffering of cruel cages!
