IMPORTANT UPDATE: The crisis at the Trenton Animal Shelter
Danielle GletowEwing, NJ, États-Unis

9 janv. 2023
This past week, I met with city officials, and we are now working in collaboration with the Trenton Animal shelter staff, Trenton City administration and the new acting director of Health and Human Services. We have been given full access to records and animals. There are no more restrictions on taking photos or videos and full access to the building has been restored! Also, volunteers who were previously banned have all been reinstated!!!!
We believe we are on our way to helping the city address the overcrowding crisis that they are facing at the shelter and look forward to continuing down this positive path.
Right now, there are over 73 dogs in need of placement in two locations, the city shelter and a boarding facility in Bucks County, PA.
The city is still operating a foster and adoption program and is also looking for rescues to assist them. There is no longer a single volunteer being used as "point person" that the public must go through. Anyone who wants to help should contact the Shelter Manager, Officer Jose Munoz. He can be reached at jmunoz@trentonj.org.
Trenton Animals Rock will be assisting as often as we can with medical expenses, supplies and administrative services on a volunteer basis and will serve as volunteers under the city's direction.
We are not operating the shelter at this time.
On Sunday, January 8, over a dozen volunteers came back and helped walk, socialize and love on all the dogs at the Trenton Animal Shelter. They worked closely and kindly with staff. We are all committed to working together, so long as things continue to be transparent and moving in the right direction.
We believe they will.
If you wish to help our team, please email us at info@tarnj.org and we will let you know what is needed and who to contact if it must go through the city of Trenton.
We cannot thank you enough for your support, shares, letters and concern. But our work is far from over.
Please continue to follow Trenton Animals Rock on Facebook at facebook.com/trentonanimalsrock and continue to donate at tarnj.org/donate or through Venmo at TrentonAnimalsRock. We are still all-volunteer run and we need your support.
Thank you for literally saving lives!!!
