Uncle Denzil made his flight to South Africa on Tuesday 29th November. He flew Qantas and getting him seated on the flight went smoothly.
It was upon landing that things turned perilous! There was no lift available so 10 people worked together trying to drag him out of his seat- Aunty Karen said it was one of the most frightening things she has witnessed and they were terrified he was going to be injured.
In the end they had to use A SHEET to try to lift him out of his seat and into a wheelchair!!!
Really??? In the year 2016 this is the very best we can do to support people with significant disability to travel?? Qantas can you honestly tell me there is no room in your huge cargo hold for one portable lift that folds down??
If you care as much as I do about inclusive air travel for every person, can you please help get this message out? I cannot believe that an issue as important as this has only a few supporters.
Good health is promised to no one- if you feel passionate about inclusion for some- please extend your passion for inclusion for all because without your support, the airlines will not change.
Thank you all so much for helping me get this message out there.
Best wishes
Bella
