We are happy to report that between Rosh Hashana 2017- 2018; 28,800 ascended the Temple Mount, representing a 27% increase from the previous year and 104% spike in the past 3 years.
Here are a few highlights from the previous year.
- 136 Grooms ascended on their wedding day.
- 61 Brides ascended on their wedding day.
- 61 Bar Mitzvah Boys ascended on their big day.
- 16 Bat Mitzvah Girls ascended on their big day.
- 100s gather for a weekly Shabbat Prayers Service at the "Shalshelet Gate" of the Temple Mount calling for the Mount to open to Jews on the Shabbat.
- 112 Jews were arrested, detained or expelled from the Mount for violating the "no-prayer decree."
- The Mount was completely closed to Jews for 116 days this year.
The new year is off to a strong start, as 1,210 Jews ascended to the Mount during the "10 Days of Repentance" from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur.
We should note that Islamic organizations are beginning to mobilize the public to oppose Jewish ascent on the Temple Mount. It is imperative for the Jewish world to support our efforts to increase Jewish presence on the Holy Mount.
