The Temple Mount re-opened to Jews this morning and dozens of Jews ascended the Temple Mount. However, for the first time since the 1970's Jews ascended without the "escort" of the Muslim WAKF (religious authority). In fact, there were almost no Arabs on the Temple Mount at all, following calls of the WAKF to boycott the Mount until Israel removes the metal detectors from "Arab entrances". installed on Sunday. Rabin furthered called upon Jewish organizations worldwide to rally around the holy cause of restoring Jewish rights and prayer on their own holiest site.
