The rivalry between the winemakers of California and France is the stuff of legends. A feud for the ages. Twice in the past 45 years, the two countries have gone head-to-head in wine tasting competitions to determine which country makes the best wines. And twice California has come out on top, winning decisive victories from a panel of international sommeliers. Yet despite these thrashings, France still seems convinced that they make the world’s finest rosés. How do they get away with it? Simple, because those competitions never included rosé wines (gasp)!


Here in the Republic of Pink, we know the best rosés in the world are made in California and we’re not afraid to put our money where our mouth is, which is why we are calling for a rosé rematch against the French, We’ve created a petition to demand the rosé winemakers of France meet us on equal terms in the ultimate duel: the best pink of wines of France versus the best pink wines of California. The winner will take home the crown of World’s Best Rosé (cough, Republic of Pink, cough).
