The petition Text:
In the matter before the court, cause A76/20, Martin James Keatings vs the Advocate General and Others, we the undersigned do hereby aver that while the pursuer may be solely named in the instance, in his role as convener of Forward as One, he does not stand alone in this cause.
We aver to the court, that we stand with him and the association; and in this action, he stands on our behalf in our determination to avoid constitutional paralysis by having the court exercise its primary function to rule on a matter of law; a matter which elected representatives have thus far, failed to address.
We aver that we seek the court to issue a declarator that the Scottish Parliament has the power, under the provisions of the Scotland Act 1998, to legislate for the holding of a referendum on whether Scotland should be an independent country, without requiring the consent of the United Kingdom Government or any further amendment, by the Union Parliament, of the Scotland Act 1998 as it stands.
