

THE REDECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
The Issue
March 4th, 2025, Redeclaration of Independence
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary to redeclare the causes which impelled us to separate from tyranny, we the people, in the footsteps of our founders before us, holding a decent respect to the opinions of mankind, declare the causes that justify such a declaration:
We hold these truths to be self-evident that all people are created equal, that their Creator endows them with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among People, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to course correct and redeclare the principles for which this nation stands relaying its foundation on such principles and organization of its powers in such form, as to the Founders seemed most likely to effect our Safety and Happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and neither shall this one change upon the whims of despots.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations… evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such despotism, and recommit to long established Guards for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of these States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to recommit to their System of Government. The history of the present President, who calls himself a “King,” is a history of repeated injuries to the constitution and usurpations of the co-equal branches of government, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his assent to the law, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good, instead proclaiming in the words of authoritarian leader Napoleon Bonaparte that, “He who saves his Country does not violate any law.”
He has demanded that Governors enforce his illegal orders, threatening to cut off federal financial support to their states if they did not comply. When the Governor of the great state of Maine stated that she would instead follow establish state and federal law, he replied, “I am, we are the federal law,” a statement in gross violation of the separation of powers and state sovereignty.
He appointed a de facto co-president, in violation of Article II of the Constitution, which mandates that the president must obtain “the Advice and Consent” of the Senate before appointing high level executives. This unelected and unvetted individual holds unprecedented power over these United States, including unrestricted access to Department of Treasury data, the authority to dismantle long-standing federal infrastructure created by a duly elected Congress, and the ability to redirect funds, taxed from the people, away from the public welfare and towards enriching himself.
He created executive orders usurping the spending power of the Congress, constituting Impoundment - the unlawful withholding of Congressionally appropriated funds in a major violation of the separation of powers and in violation of the Impoundment Control Act of 1974.
He has abandoned historic allies, including key European nations, publicly undermining Ukraine’s leadership and cutting off military aid - amid Ukraine’s continued to fight against Russia’s ongoing attacks, and has instead acted in concert with our adversaries including Russia, North Korea, and China, compromising our safety, security and reputation around the world.
He is limiting our Trade with many parts of the world, entering trade wars with our neighbors Canada and Mexico, threatening to institute tariffs against them to commence March 4, 2025. He has recently stated that he will implement similar tariffs on European nations.
He has infringed upon the freedom of the press, departing from presidential tradition, by excluding long-standing members of the White House press corps who are critical of his views, while admitting social media influencers and reporters who support him.
He has threatened to withhold emergency funding from citizens after national disasters unless their local leaders comply with his policies.
He has breached federal contracts and broken promises to provide life saving food and medication to men, women, and children around the world, endangering them and diminishing our reputation and the cause of democracy worldwide.
He has taken bribes from major corporations in the form of legal settlements of frivolous lawsuits which he has filed against them. This payments are given in exchange for protection and curry favor with him. This includes a multi-million dollar payment from a company led by his de facto co-president.
He is seeking to terminate Birthright citizenship in direct violation of the United States Constitution.
He violated the Constitution by conducting a mass dismissal of federal employees, without due process.
He has violated the Constitution and usurped the power of the Congress by creating executive orders that violate the Constitution, federal laws, or statutes, in a direct infringement of the separation of powers.
He usurped the power of the Congress by creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) without Congressional approval, input, or vetting of the agency head.
He issued an executive order titled "Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies," seizing control of independent agencies established by Congress to serve as a check on executive power. This move violates the separation of powers, undermines the rule of law, and poses a direct threat to democratic principles.
He violated the Constitution by detaining migrants and transferring them to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and other countries, which are not their country of origin, limiting their access to counsel in violation of due process.
He is attempting to usurp the plenary power of the Congress over immigration with his “gold card” proposal, creating a new immigration category without legislative input.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.
We the people declare:
That the Founders of our nation developed a Constitution outlining three co-equal branches of government, the legislative, the executive, and the judiciary, which create, enforce, and interpret the law respectively. The Constitution creates careful checks and balances to prevent the concentration of power in any single branch of government. This is the most remarkable and profound aspect of our American constitutional system.
The Constitution grants Congress, a body elected by the people, the power to organize the executive and judicial branches, raise revenue, spend revenue, and make all laws necessary for the execution of those powers.
We the people demand Congress exercise its oversight responsibilities rigorously, including holding hearings to investigate instances of executive overreach, and if necessary, pursuing legislative and constitutional remedies including impeachment of the president of the United States.
We the people demand the judiciary continue upholding the Constitution by reviewing and, when appropriate, invalidating executive actions that violate the Constitution, federal law, or the separation of powers doctrine.
The Federal government’s largest source of revenue being income tax, until the violations delineated herein are abandoned in favor of the Constitution, the separation of powers, and realignment with democratic nations, we the people, will defer our federal tax payments. These funds will be held separately and privately and will not be remitted until such time that the above conditions are met, ensuring our tax dollars are used for the legal purposes set forth by the Congress.
