***SLSNSW HAVE THREATENED TO CLOSE DOWN our surf club along with Corrimal Surf Club, if we don't sign the new contract by Wednesday this week. We are refusing to sign the contract as it states that we are to provide a minimum level of Lifesavers on a Saturday, even though Saturdays are already covered by council employees. There appears to be a complete disconnect of the publics needs and safety from SLSNSW.
What this will mean for Port Kembla and other affected SLSC.

NO NIPPERS (250+ KIDS WITHOUT INVALUABLE CPR, FIRST AID SKILLS AND SURF CONDITION AWARENESS SKILLS)

NO PATROLS ON SUNDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS!

INCREASED DROWNINGS AT ALL BEACHES AFFECTED BY THESE CHANGES!

The solution is as simple as removing the obligation of VOLUNTEER lifesavers required to patrol on a Saturday, a day already covered by employed council lifesavers.

We call on the community to support us and sign this petition to STOP the closure of this community driven SLSC.
