Tēnā koutou,
We have all fought so hard to save Te Hā and the whenua that sustains him. We are incredibly grateful for all that you have done. The hundreds of letters and submissions, the hours of time, the words of encouragement, the petitions signed. It has been amazing, and we were heard.
But we are not done yet. The Waitematā Local Board Plan is now out for submission. The Board will be considering this and implementing various work streams, including exploring what additional protection can be given to Te Hā and the whenua that sustains him.
It is important that the Board members and Council staff know how much the ongoing protection of this special place means to the community.
We are asking you, to please submit this weekend (or as soon as possible) on the Waitematā Local Board Plan here.
All you need to do is answer the questions and include something along the lines of please properly protect Te Hā and the surrounding park to ensure that something like the Erebus Memorial Project could simply never happen again. All questions are optional, so you don’t need to respond to them all.
It is just a quick submission, and we would really appreciate your support.
Thank you.
Ngā mihi nui
