The Issue

In South Africa, a woman has a greater chance of being raped than learning to read. A woman is murdered every THREE hours. This must come to an end. Our government and our leaders are standing by and watching as genocide against women occurs and do nothing. Our government and our legislative system are corrupt for this. Our Constitutional rights as women are being pushed to the side. We are being disregarded.

Section 9(1) of the Constitution — Everyone is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law. Is this the case for women? Section 10 — Everyone has inherent dignity and the right to have their dignity respected and protected. Is this the case for women? Section 12(1)(c) — Everyone has the right to freedom and security of the person, which includes the right to be free from all forms of violence from either public or private sources. Is this the case for women? Section 9(3)...Section 12(1)(d)...Section 12(1)(e)... All of our rights as women in South Africa are being neglected and we demand change!
