During an unprecedented cost of living crisis and when the overwhelming majority of the public are unable to comfortably afford heating and in many cases food, MPs are still claiming expenses for their energy bills which, of course, is funded by the tax payer. In addition, the Commons bar and restaurant is also heavily subsidised by us. This has to stop.

If we can no longer afford the basic necessities of life, then we can no longer afford to subsidise MPs' lifestyles. If MPs have to pay for heating and eating out of their own pockets, they may be more inclined to take on the greedy energy extractors. This profiteering has to end. Enough is enough
