The People's Choice Act And Amendment

The Issue

Americans across the country are frustrated with a political system that allows corruption, negligence, and extremism to go unchallenged. Too often, elected officials face no real consequences for violating public trust or failing to perform their duties. Our current system lacks direct, structured accountability to the very people elected officials are meant to serve.

The People’s Choice Act and the People’s Choice Amendment aim to fix that. Together, they establish a permanent public oversight system that gives The People the constitutional tools needed to hold every elected official accountable — regardless of party, position, or power.

These reforms ensure that public service once again means serving the public.

 About the People’s Choice Act

The People’s Choice Act is a federal reform bill designed to restore accountability in government by creating a national, standardized system of public oversight. The Act empowers The People with several concrete tools and processes:

1. Mandatory Approval Voting

• Requires regular approval votes for every elected official.

• These votes assess whether officials are fulfilling their duties and their oath of office.

• Approval votes follow a national schedule set by Congress.

2. A 45% Approval Threshold

• Establishes 45% approval as the minimum standard for continued service.

• Any official who receives less than 45% during an approval vote is immediately subject to a People’s Impeachment Motion.

3. People’s Impeachment Motion

• If triggered, Congress must take up the Motion — stalling, refusing, or ignoring it is not allowed.

• Ensures that accountability cannot be blocked by partisan loyalty or political games.

• Provides a clear, constitutional path for removal when officials abuse their power or fail their communities.

4. Structured Oversight Schedule

The Act establishes a nationwide oversight timeline:

• President: Approval vote every 1 year

• House of Representatives: Every 2 years

• Senate: Every 3 years

• State & Local Officials: Every 2–3 years, depending on office

• Federal agencies and appointees: Subject to public performance review and annual transparency reporting

This keeps every official within reach of public evaluation.

5. Temporary Representation Clause

If an official is removed through a People’s Impeachment Motion:

• Temporary representation is assigned as defined by Congress or state law.

• No community or district is left without representation during transition.

6. Transparency Requirements

• All approval vote results, triggers, and oversight findings must be made public.

• Nothing can be hidden from the people being governed.

7. Restoration of Checks and Balances

The Act strengthens the democratic system by ensuring The People can step in when other branches fail to check each other.

About the People’s Choice Amendment

The People’s Choice Amendment formally establishes The People as the Constitutive Branch of Government — the originating and continuous source of all governmental authority. It ensures that public oversight is not just a policy, but a constitutional right.

The Amendment includes:

 1. Establishment of the Constitutive Branch

• Recognizes The People as a standing constitutional branch with the power to oversee all elected officials.

• Ensures that The People are not symbolic — they are an active constitutional authority.

 2. Constitutional Authorization of Approval Voting

• Requires regular approval votes for all elected officials as a constitutional mandate.

• Guarantees that this system cannot be dismantled by Congress or any administration.

3. People’s Impeachment Power

• If an elected official receives below 45% approval, The People may initiate a People’s Impeachment Motion.

• Congress is constitutionally obligated to act on the Motion.

4. Protection Against Governmental Abuse

• Prevents manipulation, political shielding, or loopholes that allow officials to avoid consequences.

• Restores the supremacy of the public in determining who remains in office.

5. Transparency and Reporting

• Ensures all oversight reports, approval results, and impeachment triggers remain publicly available at all times.

6. Reinforcement of Democratic Checks and Balances

• Provides a corrective mechanism when the Legislative, Executive, or Judicial Branch fails.

• Strengthens the balance of power in a way that centers The People.
