We the undersigned are deeply shocked and angered by the closure of The Queens Head in Chelsea with only 3 weeks warning. 

For over 170 years, this historic pub has been a hub for the local community and is now under serious threat of change from its traditional use of a traditional wet pub. The Queens Head is one of Chelsea's oldest surviving pubs and possibly London's oldest gay pub.

This venue played a crucial part in LGBTQI history in London. The Queens Head Chelsea is widely supported in the Chelsea community and is a place where people can come together to feel safe and supported. 

We call upon the new owners of the Queens Head Chelsea to reopen the venue as soon as possible, and return it to its traditional historic use - of a traditional pub offering reasonably priced food and beer, an LGBTQI cabaret and performance venue, pub, meeting place and safe space for all walks of life and not a restaurant with a tiny bar attached.
