WHO DO YOU THINK OWNS THE BLACK CAP PUB? The Ham and High's Emma Youle has written a thoughtful expose of several pubs owned and closed by offshore funds. Enquiries to these faceless firms by MPs, councils, and press are not met with 'No Comment'. They are met with no response. This post is not to observe the fact, but to note how desperate the people behind all of these ventures are to stay hidden behind the impenetrable shield supplied by the British Virgin Islands, Jersey, and the Isle of Man, and ask if you can help break the secrecy perhaps because of something you knew and didn't know you did. Lets find and hold people to account. Crimewatch style! We all know what happens when crooks and charlatans get publicly exposed. Public opprobrium and court action follows soon after. Mr X, is accused of tax evasion. Mrs Y dare not step foot in the UK again because... Ms Z resigns as MP after... etc. Over the last two years various assertions have been made about the people behind the ownership of The Black Cap, from the un-evidenced plausible to the madly conspiratorial. But what if, inside our ranks of 2,500 members and 11,000 Change signatories, people have a snippet of information they didn't know was useful that we can cross check with other snippets, to see what sort of persons of interest may materialise from the mist? One thing is certain., The owners of The Black Cap truly value their privacy. Why? Is it the exposure they fear? Headlines in the Evening Standard and Local Press? Or the actions and investigations that happen afterwards that surely will risk dismantling their secret empires. So who do you think are the shadowy persons behind Kicking Horse Ltd (Jersey)? Tell us what you know. But pleased NOT on our Facebook Group!!! Send your thoughts and opinions to: enquiries@weareblackcap.com and tell us your belief - the madder the better. Be anonymous if you want to. All we want is some points to join up. Here's Emma Youle's thought provoking article. Wrack your memories, crowdsource your thoughts, and see what you can turn out! Send again to: enquiries@weareblackcap.com http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/…/in_depth_the_pubs_bought_with_of… And thanks as always for everything you do. Chris Clark Program Director Black Cap Foundation
