Overwhelming majority of Americans reject statue removal!
Just this week, August 30 2020, the internationally respected Democracy Institute conducted a thorough poll on the current political sentiments emanating throughout America. While this study encompassed a wide ranging set of data, we would like to highlight the topic of America's response to the radical removal of our historic statues and the failure of certain jurisdictions to prosecute the vandals. In short, the results confirm what historic preservationists have known all along: Americans roundly reject the radical removal of the statues and monuments that honor our history and culture. In response to the question, “Do you approve or disapprove of the removal of historic monuments and statues because certain individuals or groups find them offensive?” 79% of likely American voters disapprove, 6% don't know, and only 15% approve. Furthermore, likely voters made clear that "Law and order/riots/violence" exists as the number one priority in the upcoming election, with 37% listing it as number one issue, well ahead of the second ranking most important issue (jobs/economy) at 27%. This reinforces that Americans strongly oppose the lawless destruction of our public spaces and public art, namely in the form of monuments. Lastly, 72% of likely voters indicated that America should "prioritize law and order on the city streets," indicating the strong disapproval of the failure to identify, arrest, and prosecute the vandals responsible for senseless vandalism and destruction.
It is worth noting the rigorous standards through which the Democracy Institute implements its polling. Their painstaking research utilizes only the most precise procedural elements when extracting data from the public. Unlike unreliable online polls, or surveys conducted by ideologically driven organizations, the Democracy Institute makes certain to include and represent key demographic and political variables in order to best represent the population at large. Even more telling, their polling results make sure to include the sentiment from likely voters living in contested battleground states like Florida and Minnesota.
Americans are fed up with the reckless iconoclasm pushed by a very small but vocal minority of elitist Marxists and their dangerous radical pawns. The Jacobin message of hatred, division, and destruction has stirred up a silent majority of voters who roundly reject their ideology of vindictive bitterness. Their authoritarian movement diametrically opposes everything that a Western, free society stands for. Remain steadfast, supporters of American history and culture, the hearts and minds of the people are increasingly rallying to our side!
