Here is where we are in our suit against the parish.  All documents from both sides are completed and filed for the appellate court to examine.  Oral arguments have not been scheduled yet and there has been no selection for the judges for the 3-judge panel.

Our request for oral arguments is not guaranteed but we must not give up hope. The law is on our side; however, the head of the circuit court is a liberal Democrat from Shreveport.  We hope that party politics are put aside and the court rules on law and not race when it decides our fate. We do not know when the court will make its decision concerning scheduling oral arguments (if it sets oral arguments then our attorney will be in front of the court in about six months).

We still have many obstacles to overcome, but do not despair. Our cause is just, our arguments have merit, and our will to persevere will never falter. Our ancestors deserve nothing less than our complete devotion to the causes they fought for.
