Hello all supporters.
Well, we have hit the 800 mark online, wih roughly the same number from hardcopy petitions. So, a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to have a motion submitted to council.
The next Armidale Regional Council meeting, where a motion to declare a climate emergency will be introduced, will be at 4:00 pm on Wednesday 23rd October, in the Armidale council building in Rusden Street, upstairs. It is important that this meeting shows a large presence of supporters of the motion. Will you please make every effort to be there? It would be wonderful to have people overflowing out into the street!
Today, I have included a pictorial article from the Climate Council, which is a very simple way to get the message about the climate emergency we truly are experiencing, out to the deniers. There is also another very good booklet by Jane Morton, called Don't Mention The Emergency? which is worth getting your hands on if you can. Sustainable Living Armidale (SLA) could arrange that for you. Jane played a very big part in getting the Darebin Council (Victoria) to declare a climate emergency. All councillors will receive a copy of this publication.
So, keep up the good work for another fortnight. Thanks for help making all this happen.
