Good news! The latest development application to convert the Roxy into a nightclub has been refused by Parramatta Council, and ratified by the Local Planning Panel at a meeting on 18 February 2025.

Our petition of over 4,000 names - with your signature - was formally submitted as an important part of our objection to the development, and this was referenced a number of times in the formal Determination papers. Huge thanks to every single one of you!

The fight is not over. The owner may appeal to the Land & Environment Court, which has already ruled against the first DA in 2021. Our next task is to urge the State Government to honour their election promise to acquire and restore the building as a live theatre.
