The Land and Environment Court today rejected the appeal by the owner of the Roxy, which is great news - but not yet a victory!  The good news is that the building is protected - the not so good news is that the owners has declared his intention to re-open it as a pub.

Our next step is to encourage local and state governments and planners to get together with the private sector, for example theatre owners and producers, to give this jewel the outcome it deserves, nothing less than a full restoration, with the addition of a stage house (the Council owns car parks to the rear and side of the building).  To achieve this, the local Council and State Government need to know they have overwhelming  community support, so please encourage everyone you know to sign the petition!
