Without a newspaper and its associated skill in expertise in journalism (which can be used for electronic news publication) a language is quite literally deprived of a forum to discuss the controversies of the day. This is a body blow to the Irish language, and it is astonishing that a body entrusted with the promotion of the language had any part in it. Is buille fealltach tubaisteach d'aon teanga nuachtán sa teanga sin a dhúnadh. Sa chás seo tá feall breise i gceist mar go bhfuil deireadh aontaobhach á chur ag Foras na Gaeilge leis an gconradh le Gaelscéal, roimh dheireadh oifigiúil thréimhse an chonartha, sin deireadh 2013. Níl son plean cinnte ag Foras na Gaeilge cad a dtiocfaidh in áít Gaelscéal agus, mar sin, tá gach seams nach mbeidh a leithéid in áít laistigh de bhliain nó dhó. Más seirbhís nuachta ar líne atá i gceist, ba cheart an dies a thabhairt do Ghaelscéal an seirbhís seo a chur ar fáil go deireadh 2013 agus comórtas phoiblí a ullmhú san idirlín le nach mbeadh son bhriseadh ann ar an solathar do phobal na Gaeilge.

Letter to
The Irish and British Governments/Rialtais na hÉireann agus na Breataine
Reverse the decision of Foras na Gaeilge to close Gaelscéal.
