DISCLAIMER: We are not forcing IDFC to produce a Season 2 of Gameboys. We are simply letting them know that we would be on board if they were to humour us and produce a Season 2 of Gameboys The Series.

The Gameboys fandom are making noise for a Season 2. For those of you who don’t know what Gameboys The Series is, it’s a Filipino queer series that redefines the genre of ‘BL’, paving the way for future BL shows that involve healthy representation of the LGBTQ+ community without compromising the quality of storytelling. In other words, Gameboys is a God-tier series that has changed the lives of so many people around the world - teaching them self-forgiveness, self-acceptance and reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles. Love exists, it’s a matter of taking the leap of faith sometimes.

Plus, we love the writer, the directors, the cast, three crew, the producers of the music, the OST singers, the sponsors and the merchandise released.

Currently, Episode 13 will be airing on September 13 on the IDFC YouTube channel. It is the final episode, and after that comes a Gameboys: The Series movie in future development - as well as a spin-off, entitled ‘Pearl Next Door’, a GL show (which we are all excited and hyped for!)

However, we believe that there are many more stories and lessons left for CaiReel to tell and teach, and we have full faith that the amazing writer Ash Malanum can pull off a Season 2 without taking away from the power of Season 1. Personally, I would even be happy to merely watch an episode of CaiReel watching paint dry. That’s how much I, and we, enjoy their realistic love story.
