When George Mitchell developed The Woodlands in 1974, you only knew it existed by the exit signs off of I-45 as you headed north to Conroe.  You had to know the Woodlands to find anything. 

Now, the Howard Hughes Corp allows under brush to be cut, thin out tree lines, and exposes everyone to higher road noises with the population growth of the waterway. Instead of family living, we are being turned into another metropolitan suburb. 

While we all know the charm of The Woodlands, we are demanding that the era of building in the Woodlands is over. No more expansion of roads, no more woods being cut back, not one more tree. It’s time that quiet seclusion return to its residence and not to corporations.

We are requiring an inquiry to the sound levels, the light pollution, and natural habitat be examined to secure what remains of Woodlands.
