Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition in support of Ashley and his family.
Ashley has seen the petition and is very appreciative of all the support. Ashley wanted to write individual letters thanking everyone but as there are so many people to thank, he has written a small note (the image included) and signed it as Neuro Goda.
Neuro Goda was Ashley's chosen identity that day and this often changes day by day. This excerpt from "Born to Love" by Bruce Perry explains the effects that seclusion, even short term, can have on a person: "As University of California psychologist Craig Haney - one of the worlds leading experts on the destructive effects of isolation - put it prisoners in solitary often suffer “an impaired sense of identity; hypersensitivity to stimuli; cognitive dysfunction (confusion, memory loss, rumination) irritability, anger, aggression and/or rage…..”"
Please continue to share the petition and we will update you when we are presenting this to Parliament.
