Lord Mancroft to be investigated by the Committee for Privileges & Conduct.

Lord Mancroft to be investigated by the Committee for Privileges & Conduct.
The Issue
Leaked footage of a webinar which took place last August (2020) shows Lord Mancroft chairing a meeting in which he and at least 100 members of the hunting community appear to discuss how to get away with breaking the Hunting Act 2004 in order to illegally hunt foxes.
In the footage, which is being investigated by Devon & Cornwall Police, Mancroft and others appear to discuss how to provide a “smokescreen” to hide illegal hunting from “some member of the public” and how to blame the death of an illegally hunted fox on animal rights activists. They also appear to discuss how to deal with police and how to commit perjury in a court of law.
Lord Mancroft himself appears to advise others to be careful that they do not record evidence of their own lawbreaking when he says;
“Those of you who are filming and recording, don’t stand there recording the opposition blowing horns saying, “Isn’t marvelous that they haven’t seen us because we’ve just caught a fox behind them” or something like that.”
The House of Lords is responsible for “making and shaping laws and checking and challenging the work of the government.”
As such Lord Mancroft’s participation in a meeting of this nature makes his position in the House of Lords wholly untenable.
The footage was leaked by the Hunt Saboteurs Association.
