Hello Aquamation supporters!

It’s nearly a year since the last update, but we’re still plugging away and growing in support! In fact, we’ve gained about 1,000 signatures putting us at just over 3,000!

Seemingly slow progress, but I have an idea that could help! You can watch Caitlin Doughty’s new aquamation video linked here, or read on to find out what it is.

In the video, Doughty shares her story about how in 2017, on the second attempt to legalize aquamation in California, the bill was stalled in the committee where bills get funded. She and her team then researched the lawmakers involved, and asked their supporters to write letters and blow up the head of the committee’s Twitter feed with (by her own request) “cute animal photos and GIFs.” Doughty was also able to message the committee member directly on Twitter and received a positive response in reply. She thinks this strategy really seemed to help, as a few days later, aquamation was legalized in the state of California! #Inspirational

So that got me thinking that it wouldn’t hurt to try something similar, right?? Want to help me get the attention of decision makers in BC? All you have to do is copy and paste or Retweet this Tweet below and include the Desmond Tutu GIF (he chose aquamation in 2021), or add your own!
