Hello supporters!
We haven't had much news in recent days, so we were astonished to hear media reports today that apparently our museum campaign has given up!
Can we reassure you: this is NOT TRUE. We are working as hard as we ever did - admittedly against increasing odds - to ensure the AA is kept in Hobart as a museum to herself and the Australian Antarctic Program.
Today we had a very exciting meeting which may see a major collaboration between the Aurora Australis Foundation and another organisation with the ship's future at heart. More on that soon...
And we have commissioned a formal heritage assessment which we hope we will get soon and which will prove that the AA is a ship of national significance and deserves preservation.
We'll continue to work as hard as we can until we succeed or we fall over!
