The Sunday Update

Aurora Australis Foundation
Jun 27, 2020

Good morning supporters!

First - a huge thank you to you all. 500 people have now signed! It's great to have so much support. We really appreciate it!

Second - we are getting increased media attention, which is helpful. If you see or hear a news report that features us, please let us know so we can share it on social media.

Third - if you haven't already signed up for our AAF mailing list, please take a moment to do so on our website, www.aurora-australis.org.au

And fourth (!) - if you haven't already, please consider contacting the Federal minister responsible for heritage, Paul Fletcher, and the Tasmanian Premier and Minister for Tourism Peter Gutwein. These two have the power to issue protection orders for the Aurora Australis, provide funding for a heritage assessment, and fund the establishment of a major new tourism attraction in Hobart.

Paul Fletcher:

Peter Gutwein:

Even as a static ship in permanent berth the Aurora Australis will still work hard for us: her uses include all of an Australian Antarctic museum, an accommodation and function centre and a maritime training facility.

Thank you for everything you're doing to support our campaign. The Aurora Australis's story is really about everyone who has travelled on her and everyone who loves her. You are all becoming part of that story.

Cheers
Mel Van Twest
