Today the Governor-General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove, presented Dr Richard Harris and Dr Craig Challen with two significant honours. Both men received the Order of Australia Medal (OAM), and the Star of Courage (SC), Australia’s second-highest Bravery Decoration. Also honoured were seven members of the AFP, and a member of the RAN. Thank you to everyone who chose this petition to make your voice heard. Over 56000 of us thought the same way! I’m sure these heroes would have been honoured by our government anyway, but we had our say and the idea resonated far and wide. To every Aussie who did us proud in Thailand - thank you all.
