The ocean is very dirty and we think it needs to be cleaned.  The result of these oil spills are making animal species Extinct.  It is a very bad thing happening in the world right now and it has to be fixed as soon as possible.

40% of the Earth’s Ocean waters are prone to Oil Spills.
Oil spills naturally kill almost all marine animals which are whales, dolphins, seals , sea otters, and seals, and penguins.  
Oil kills animals by coating onto their skin or fur.  This then gives them hypothermia leading to death of these animals.
82,000 birds of 102 species , 6165 sea turtles, and about a total of 29,000 marine animals.

• Can you believe more than 4.9 million liters/1.3 million gallons of petroleum and oil is dumped into the water each year.If you think that's a lot then think how much is dumped in the whole entire.
• The biggest oil spill in 2017 was when a tanker ship holding 5,000 barrels of oil sank in the Indian ocean.
• Since 1969 there was a recorded 44 oil spills in US waters.
• The worst oil spill in the world was in the Persian Gulf where they lost more than 6,000-8,000 barrels of oil.
• To prevent oil spills sail men have to prevent the spill from reaching shore.Prevent the impact on Marine life.Speed the degradation of any unrecovered oil.
• Gasoline and Oil are the worst for marine animals as they give off more toxins as they evaporate.

             The government probably thinks they have so many more thing to worry about like the wall,deportation,and republican and democratic relationships.Why don't they think about our problems while they are trying to solve there own disputes.My friend and I are only 12 years old and we want to really make a dent in this world and if you sign this petition it would be a great help.
