THANK YOU! Because of you, we have collected nearly 10,000 signatures on our petition demanding that the presence of students, faculty, and staff on our campuses occurs under conditions of safety and without coercion. Our demand that masks be required has already been met. Yet we still need to ensure that this requirement is enforced without police involvement, that face-to-face engagement is strictly voluntary, and that we have widespread availability of free and frequent testing for COVID-19.

We've chosen July 20th as the date to deliver the petition signatures to the Board of Regents. We chose this date in solidarity with a nationwide Strike for Black Lives to stand against racism. The COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts are a Black Lives Matter issue because of the disproportionate impacts of the disease on Black workers - who are more likely to be in low-paying front line jobs on our campuses - and Black community members who have suffered the effects of health disparities for generations.

Please save the date on your calendar and watch for further details on how you can participate.
