I refer to your enquiry about the petition you signed and the recent outcome of Council meeting.

Council has approved the provision of a right-turn into Wheeo Street for southbound traffic on Hambledon Road, and a right-turn into Govetts Street for northbound traffic on Hambledon Road. The current temporary left-turn from Shuttle Parade into Hambledon Road will be kept. These changes will allow traffic from Shuttle Parade to turn left into Hambledon Road and then turn right at Govetts Street, to access other locations including Riverbank Public School. A copy of the diagrams for these arrangements is attached.

Construction of the right-turns is expected to be completed in the next 2 months, subject to the weather conditions remaining favourable. Unfortunately, traffic from Wheeo Street won’t be able to use Shuttle Parade to access Hambledon Road, until the Shuttle Parade missing link is connected to Wheeo Street.

The temporary access from Wheeo Street into Shuttle Parade was closed by the developer. Work is expected to start on the missing link of Shuttle Parade once the development application for the site is determined. The missing link is expected to be completed by the developer in the next 18 months.

Completion of the permanent arrangements for the left turn onto Hambledon Road at Shuttle Parade, will be undertaken once the developer builds the missing link of Shuttle Parade at Wheeo Street.
