The EU must act: 50 billion euros for humanitarian aid – NOW!

Das Problem

🚨 The U.S. has shut down all humanitarian aid programs – millions of lives are at risk. The EU must step in immediately! 🚨

The sudden and complete closure of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) by the U.S. government has created an immediate funding gap of 50 billion euros. Across the world’s poorest regions, health and food aid programs have been abruptly halted, emergency medical care has been cut off, and life-saving resources are no longer reaching those in need.

In recent weeks, thousands of people have already died, including hundreds of newborns. HIV, COVID-19, and other deadly diseases are spreading uncontrollably once again.

The European Union must act NOW to prevent this catastrophe!

Our demand:
We call on the EU to immediately establish an emergency fund of 50 billion euros to replace the halted USAID programs. This requires:
Activating existing EU emergency funds – including the European Peace Facility and the Humanitarian Aid Budget (DG ECHO).
Mobilizing international partners such as the UN, World Bank, IMF, and G7 to secure co-financing.
Considering trade policy measures against the U.S. if Washington deliberately abandons its global commitments.

Every moment of delay costs lives. The EU has a legal and moral duty to alleviate human suffering.

Why is this important?
Every second, more people die because humanitarian aid programs were suddenly cut off. Disease outbreaks, malnutrition, and instability are escalating worldwide.
If the EU does not step up now, it will lose its credibility as a humanitarian power.
