A letter to my fellow artists

My Dear fellow artists, Isn't it a shame that we live in a world where we can't simply create for the pure joy of it? No, instead we are forced to cater to the masses and the algorithms, sacrificing our true artistic visions in the hopes of making a living. If only we could survive while making art for art's sake, rather than constantly worrying about pleasing those who judge us from behind a screen and trying to make a profit. Imagine the possibilities - we could create pieces that truly spoke to our deepest desires, rather than just trying to chase likes and follows. But alas, we are stuck in a cycle of creating what we think will sell, rather than what we hope to create. It's a frustrating and demoralizing existence, but we soldier on, wishing that one day we might be able to truly let our creative minds loose. If only we weren't existing under a patriarchal colonialist system of capitalism that makes it nearly impossible for those of us who want to create art to survive solely on our passions. It seems like we are constantly forced to sell our souls to corporations that take our intellectual property for their own, just to make ends meet and feed ourselves. It's a cruel reality that we must confront every day as artists. Until then, let's try to find joy in our everyday lives and remember that we are not alone in this struggle.

Sincerely yours forevermore,

Magpie,

A twice exceptional artist.
