Hello and thank you for your support of this petition.

We have had a phenomenal response with 1000 signatures without any press or publicity, just Facebook and word of mouth.  In my opinion that’s because there is something really unfair about a wealthy elite selling something they were given on trust, making a cool £75,000,000 and giving New Greens residents an end to freedom of movement.   Don’t forget ending the opportunity to cycle to school and making walking to school even more dangerous than it already is with no crossings and no 20mph zones.  

For anyone travelling into St Albans along the Harpenden Rd approaching the Ancient Briton, your reward will be an even greater wait as 4000 extra vehicle movements nudge, barge and jostle their way into stationary traffic (taking out the cyclists on the nonexistent cycle lanes as they do).

Talking of the cycle lane provision, I have cycled and filmed the journies that the school and developers expect residents of ‘Woollam park’ to take.   Take a look and see if you think such routes are safe. Videos of rides My particular highlight was having to look simultaneously right and left at the William IV crossroads to be in the correct position to turn right across fast moving traffic. (A route that ignored the existing St Albans Green Ring and made a marathon out of a fairly short ride to the station). If they take this much care with the proposed cycle routes how much do they care about their house buyers? Not a lot, they are building on a floodplain after all.
